Ellah Ronen
Programs & Partnerships Team Lead
A strategic leader with deep expertise in food systems, food equity, and philanthropic impact, Ellah Ronen is the Programs & Partnerships Team Leader for the LA County Office of Food Systems. She has dedicated her career to addressing food insecurity through systems change, policy development, and collaborative partnerships, and, as a Senior Program Officer at the California Community Foundation, she co-chaired the LA County Food Equity Roundtable, co-authored its Action Plan, and played a key role in the creation of the LA County Office of Food Systems. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she directed more than $20 million in strategic investments to address urgent and long-term food insecurity.
Earlier in her career, Ellah served as a Program Officer at the Annenberg Foundation, where she led LA n Sync, a cross-sector initiative that secured more than $180 million in funding for community-based projects, including food access programs. Across roles, she has successfully mobilized philanthropic and public-private partnerships to align funding with sustainable, equity-driven food justice solutions, and she supported No Kid Hungry in developing its equity-focused funding strategy.
Ellah currently serves as Chair of the Board for the Center for Nonprofit Management and Secretary of the Board for the LA Community Gardens Council. She holds an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BA in Comparative Literature from UC Santa Barbara.
